Rock and Roll Juice is a rather innocent collection, silently setting itself firmly in the midst of contemporary Australian twang. While looking at life at ground level, Ciggie Witch revel in up-front recollections and revelations about not fitting in, wasting time, making hard decisions and not being satisfied with the results.
Kitchen recording sessions, acoustic instruments, introspective lyrics – it all makes sense. If you can get over the rustic and ‘downer’ aspects of these songs there is a lot of appreciate.
This album is a unique beast. I am pretty new to the Eastlink mythos and this LP is my first taste of the band – I gotta say, I am pretty chuffed with this.
