It’s been 15-odd months since Melbourne hard-rockin’ trio Power took us on a high-octane joyride with their Turned On LP, and now someone’s gone and given them the damn keys again. This outing, Power is only zipping a quick circuit with a two-track 7-inch single, but they’re pressing the accelerator even harder than before. Power peels out and away with a blistering intensity that leaves nothing behind but a scent of petrol fumes and burnt rubber.

Video Premiere: NO SISTER – ‘BURNING NEWS’

As we enter a new month we inch closer to the release of Melbourne-based post-punk outfit No Sister’s new EP Influence. ‘Burning News’ – the second track to be released singularly before the EP’s official drop–  is an ominous and unsettling churner inspired by childhood memories. Although its origins are firmly rooted in past remembrances, the mental images that spawned ‘Burning News’ have found new meaning when considered in the context of the modern media landscape.

Melbourne’s Cool Sounds are making moves. Less than a week on from the release of their latest EP Gristle, the group is dropping a fresh clip for standout track ‘Grudge’. Set to a backdrop of pristine Australian wine country, the track and its accompanying flick ruminates on past regrets, fresh starts and baptism by vino.
