Several years on from her debut 2016 EP Ur Future Is Bright, Melbourne electro-pop artist EN.V has returned with some new music. ‘Neon Cowboy’ is a roomy and irresistible piece of country-tinged dance – the mix of genres is less an ironic aesthetic choice, and more a melding of influences, namely the artist’s rural upbringing and adoration for contemporary dance pop.

Canberra-based neo-synth-pop artist Gus McGrath aka California Girls is releasing the second track from his forthcoming record Beat Boy. ‘Small Birds’ is an irresistibly danceable track that places the listener in the bowels of a pulsing subterranean rave as Gus moves through a heaving mass of bodies, searching for true intimacy amid an uncaring world hooked on physical immediacy.

Set to a mash-up of imagery from iconic romance movies and ultra-gory B-grade horror flicks, V reminds us all about the brutality of love and the fine line we walk between passion and hate.

After dipping her toes into stripped-back piano-driven songwriting on 2017 LP SHYNESS, Angela Garrick aka Angie Bermuda aka Angie has picked up the guitar once again to pen a collection of bulldozing rock-and-roll numbers for The Underling. Lead single ‘Blood On My Eyes’ finds Angie with dirt under her fingernails, sweat on her brow and a bit of fire in her gut.
