This is music that relies heavily on its fans buying into the bullshit. These songs connect with young kids because they think it’s cool at the time, but then get over it. This is music by a not-so-young kid that never got over it.
Kitchen recording sessions, acoustic instruments, introspective lyrics – it all makes sense. If you can get over the rustic and ‘downer’ aspects of these songs there is a lot of appreciate.
This album is a unique beast. I am pretty new to the Eastlink mythos and this LP is my first taste of the band – I gotta say, I am pretty chuffed with this.
